Funding available for 2013 conservation programs
November 15, 2012
VERONA—The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in Virginia has limited funding available for farmers interested in implementing conservation programs in 2013.
Farmers can sign up for NRCS programs throughout the year, but funding selections are made at specific times, and the first 2013 cutoff date is Jan. 18.
The NRCS Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program will return in 2013. The program is for farmers who want to create new wildlife and aquatic habitats or maintain or improve existing habitats.
Details are available from local NRCS offices.
