‘Virginia Farm to Table Plan’ available online

BLACKSBURG—The recently released Virginia Farm to Table Plan: A Strategic Plan for Strengthening Virginia’s Food System and Economic Future can be downloaded from Virginia Cooperative Extension’s website at pubs.ext.vt.edu/CV/CV-3/CV-3.html.

Additional resources related to the plan can be found at virginiafoodsystemcouncil.org and virginiafarmtotable.org.

The entrepreneurial initiative contains 38 distinct recommendations related to business and production management; market development; food system planning, management and policy; food security; food safety; diet and health; and implementation. It includes a recent challenge to Virginia households to buy $10 of locally grown food and other farm products each week.
